Designing a front end for powering DC/DC Converter modules doesn't
have to a time consuming task. Our Modular Front End (MFE) series
enables you to drop a fully integrated front end into your power
supply to get you up and running immediately.
Each
sealed board-ready module in the MFE Series saves time and potential
costs by enabling system engineers to efficiently design-in power-factor
corrected power supply systems for telecom front ends, hot-swappable
file/application servers, and industrial motor controls. The modules
are ideal for all applications where time-to-market and design
cost are critical since it simplifies system design. The MFE Series
PFC modules require no external components to power DC-DC converters.
Our MFE modules accept a wide range input (850-265 VAC) and are
board or chassis mountable. They provide a host of advanced features
including Power Factor Correction (PFC), overvoltage and overcurrent
protection, an isolated logic supply and complete monitoring signals.
Each front end is fully EMI compliant with all commonly used DC/DC
converters. They're economical, low profile and require no heatsink.
Complete with full safety agency approvals, they are ideal for
reliable distributed power architectures in just about any application.
The MFE Series is available n 250-,500-, 750- and 1400-Watt ratings.
All four models in the series feature integral EMI filtering,
hold-up capacitors, integral phase control for inrush limiting,
input over-voltage protection, and short circuit protection. Each
device meets class B EMO, and comes with complete safety agency
approvals including UL and the CE mark. The costs average 25 cents
per watt at OEM quantities.
"Our
MFE product family puts power supply design back into the hands
of the system designer." said Don Mulvey, Vice President
of MFE Solutions. "The system designer just needs to add
readily available DC-DC converters and the entire power supply
system is complete."
The low profile (1.1" - 1.5") modules require no additional
heat sinks and operate in temperatures up to 70 degrees centigrade.
Complete monitoring signals, over-temperature warnings and shutdown
are included.
All manufacturing is performed at MFE's ISO-9001 and MIL-1-45208A-compliant
facility and all power supply modules are fully tested using state-of-the-art
inspection equipment. The modules are suitable for commercial,
international, and military applications.
